Ad Submission Guidelines

Digital ad submission is required. Film, TIFF/IT, and Scitex formats will NOT be accepted.

A PDF-X 1a file is the preferred digital format for submission. Output your file as a high resolution PDF-X 1a at 300 DPI, 100% of output size, 1/8" bleed on full page ads, all fonts embedded or outlined, spot colors converted to CMYK and no RGB or JPEG data included. See click-thru tutorial below for file preparation details.

Alternatively, Quark ( 6.0 or lower), Indesign (CS2 or lower) and Adobe Illustrator (CS2 or lower) files will be accepted with prior approval. Please send the native Quark, Indesign or Illustrator layout files with all fonts and placed image files included. Please do not embed images in native file formats.

Ad materials larger than 5mb can be placed on our ftp site. See information below for file transfer instructions.

Using FTP Client software like Fetch for Mac or Filezilla for PC, insert the above information into the corresponding fields (Fetch dialog box shown). The username – gim_ad and the password – gad!123 – which are also case sensitive. Pay strict attention to the initial directory – " / " – without the slash you will be blocked from the ftp server. If you have any problems with this ftp upload please feel free to contact us at golfinginmichigan@charter.net.

NOTE: Our host does not allow browser based drag and drop ftp uploads. You will need an FTP client to create a proper connection.

PDF_X1A Tutorial

1. Create a file in Quark, Illustrator, or Indesign
2. Make sure all colors are CMYK
3. Make sure all images are 300 dpi/CMYK
4. Export document to PDF > View Settings

These are the settings for exporting a PDF_X1A from Adobe InDesign.
If you are using Quark or Illustrator, apply the same settings.
